Since April 2016, the architect and designer collaborates with the Italian brand, to express a new philosophy for the office and contract furnishing Paolo Mantero joins Sinetica Industries with his experience in architecture and design, starting from his studies in Genoa with Mario Botta and the collaboration with Renzo Piano, for the development of office design projects for clients such as Autogrill, Diesel, BNL, Benetton Group. Since 1999, Studio Mantero, specialized in strategic consulting and design of office environments, operates at an international level with a team of professionals and a multidisciplinary and integrated approach that ranges from design to architecture, up to urban planning. ‘Designing for people is the key concept around which all the projects rotate, with the aim of providing responses that are effective and close to human needs, creating quality, comfortable and environmentally friendly spaces, where it is pleasant to live and work in’. Based on this philosophy and in line with the new slogan ‘Smart Your Life’, Paolo Mantero accompanies Sinetica industries towards the next goals: not only in the office furniture industry, but also in the contract, home, and hotel industry spaces. The collaboration with Sinetica Industries includes not only the development of new products, but also the company's image coordination and the design of the Sinetica Stand at the Orgatec fair 2016 in Cologne, to express the new positioning of this dynamic brand with respect to the international market in the name of a Made in Italy that knows how to create and live well. Short Bio: Paolo Mantero studied Architecture at the University of Genoa where he was Mario Botta’s pupil and lived his first professional experiences in the studio of Renzo Piano. Subsequently he dealt with corporate image, retail, and product design, consolidating important experience both in Italy and abroad in these areas. In 1995 he moved to Milan, and together with Progetto CMR and Luigi Giffone (‘G’ of DEGW), he developed numerous space planning and interior design projects for major national and international groups, from Honeywell to Canon. In 1999 he opened his own studio in Milan and started, always being particularly attentive to the needs of people and sustainability, an intense project activity, from the Autogrill offices in Milan to the new Diesel Headquarters in Breganze, to his most recent projects for the new offices of the BNL / BNP Group both in Rome and in Milan, and the new offices of the holding company of the Benetton Group in Treviso, together with the architect Tobia Scarpa.
Design Baldanzi e Novelli
Adriano Baldanzi and Alessandro Novelli, after studying industrial design in Florence, started in business along with other colleagues in the field of corporate image and design. They worked for CIATTI furniture accessories, BIEFFE motorcycle helmets, MENOWAT household appliances, and other companies in Tuscany in the furnishing sector. In 1984 the studio Baldanzi & Novelli was founded. The company and brand CASAMANIA was established, dealing in furniture accessories. In 1986 it was taken over by FREZZA, a well-know office furniture company. The Frezza company would manage the brand under the name CASAMANIA BY FREZZA. Since then, the studio has designed a great number of products for this brand, including beds, trolleys, kitchens, bookcases and other furnishing accessories. Distinguished among these for its diffusion and appreciation is the FESTIVAL shelving system, designed back in 1988 and still listed in the current catalogue. Since 1991, the studio has been involved in the office sector, designing sheet metal partitions and tables, leading to the creation of Proteus and Paries. Entering the office sector was the starting point for the design of seats and armchairs for offices. B&N designed “ DATA", a small armchair for common areas made of plastic with a tubular frame. For this project, the studio would be awarded the FORUM DESIGN OFFICE at the EIMU in Milan and at the 0RGATEC in Cologne. The seating concept designed by B&N was so innovative that it would subsequently be picked up on by other companies. In 1995 B&N met BUM, highly specialized in the sector of office seating. BUM asked the studio to design a product with a strong identity that would showcase the company on the international scene, a seat capable of covering various sectors and of making BUM more visible. This led to the creation of the EVERYDAY range. The Everyday system is a very vast range that includes office armchairs, management-level products with a new all-visible concept, and products for operational levels, visitors, waiting areas and common areas. Few companies have ever attempted such a complete range. For BUM the studio designs CONTACT, NORDIC, VELA,VIGOR, UNA. With LAMM in 1997 the studio became involved in the design of a theatre and auditorium armchair. C 600 is an armchair with minimalist traits, with a "hidden motor". In fact, the armchair features a synchronous closing system of the seat and back, compacting the seat itself, recovering space between rows. This makes it easier to allow people to exit and facilitates cleaning. Also for LAMM the studio designs C900. In 1998, the studio continued its experience in the seating sector, designing a university study desk for EMMEGI called CAMPUS. Also for EMMEGI, the B&N studio designed FLOW, a new kind of seat, which would lead to Flow`s. After the experience of FLOW came MOOD, and armchair with a net back with a strong aesthetic impact. For SITLAND , in 2000 B& designed a range of tables for home computers, DRUMS. Also for Sitland, in 2002 the studio designed the SPIRIT office seat, with great ergonomics as well as design, including the back fastened to the frame by means of a central elastic joint that allows the back of the chair to follow and support the user`s back in a three-dimensional manner. Spirit was followed by FREE SPIRIT and AIR SPIRIT as well as SIT-GO, introduced at Orgartec in 2006. For MECO B&N they design GOLF a lightweight metal office system, with tables, partitions and storage units. For the Spanish company PERMASA, B&N designs TEKNA, a range of office armchairs. It is the first major seating product for this large company. For the LAS MOBILI group, the studio designs the HELLO range of seats. An outstanding management system for offices, a project from 2006 and named GLAMOUR, was designed for SINETICA INDUSTRIES. The Baldanzi & Novelli studio has also received prizes and rewards which are briefly mentioned below. The studio also held a course on design at the faculty of architecture in Genova. Sinetica Design Lab
In 2005, Sinetica created «Sinetica Lab», an internal department of the company, which deals with Marketing, Communication and Design issues. From here ideas start their journey and take shape, one station after another. These are the stops where we welcome our travel mates: specialized professionals, collaborators and suppliers who contribute to defining either a project, or a product, or an initiative by Sinetica. A journey of ideas, to a far destination. A journey where new landscapes, suggestions and considerations will meet. And the journey itself will feed on further, innovative, ideas.
