Ailita Engineering: the dynamic space

To achieve a good project in terms of quality and usability of spaces, it is essential to gain significant knowledge of the customer to understand the way in which they are structured and what their organisational needs are and how they perform their activities. The architect Pierangelo Turchetti has certainly placed the needs of Ailita Engineering at the centre of his design, a dynamic company that operates in the field of energy from renewable sources, to obtain a functional working environment that is also adaptable and comfortable.

The new offices of Ailita Engineering extend over an area of approximately 9,500 square meters in a building of approximately 1,400 sqm over two floors. One floor is office space whilst the other has been turned into a laboratory and warehouse. The building space draws its inspiration from the perfect intersection of the axis of the land area with the north-south solar axis of the roof, the ideal orientation to obtain maximum efficiency from the building`s photovoltaic panels. The superimposition of the two geometries has given rise to a wonderful and singular joining of spaces.

Architectural Form and operational features, energy efficiency and a luminous environment and rationality and dynamism of space are the principal themes that characterise this project. The space inside is bright whilst retaining a homely flavour that is carefully transmitted with the use of natural materials. It is the natural pine of the roof, floors of natural oak and grey stone, a stairway in red Verona marble that all help to distance this space from the typical grey interiors of many work areas, instead transmitting a pleasant sensation of comfort.

The unusual division of the inner area and the perception of space that is in part low, and in part high, does nothing but amaze you. In fact, the desire to create space by passing along narrow corridors into large areas in which the space, no longer enclosed by walls, expands like the great open space of the operational area that is characterised by wonderful double-height glass partitions, creating contrast and giving vitality to the space.

A dynamism that also reveals itself in the beautiful reception area in which the Factory desk, designed in white, immediately reveals the personality of the company with its cosy minimalism and, from the dedicated waiting area with its Ice red sofa and the only note of colour, divulges all its elegance. In fact, the dominant colour of this project is white. Also all the divisions as well as all the furniture planned for the operating area are to be furnished with Use Me and Diamond cabinets. The office space is furnished with Dado cabinets and Vogue desks that are completely white, coordinating with the beige leather Captain chairs. This chromatic choice arises from the desire to create a neutral, clean and tidy context that facilitates well-being in addition to helping tackle the difficulties inherent in each job. Surprise, wellness and finesse are also to be found on the outside of the building in a water course that, positioned in the same axis as the entrance, welcomes and accompanies visitors and employees as they enter and exit the building space.
