The Samsung offices are designed in an innovative way, perfect for encouraging interaction between employees, but also privacy when necessary. What does it mean to design an efficient office today?

The key to Revalue design is the hybrid model, the only one capable of balancing the needs of privacy and communication, concentration and collaboration, isolation and interaction.

Our objective is to create spatial configurations that combine productivity with well-being and guarantee a high level of comfort. They are spaces designed to create a flexible working environment, motivating, dynamic and capable of adapting to the most diverse needs.

In a nutshell our approach pays attention to the perceptual aspects and the quality of the spaces, from the point of view of the correct lighting and acoustic and climatic comfort, which combine to create optimum working conditions, through a precise integrated study of the typological, functional and technological as well as color, material and texture solutions.

Spaces designed for the real needs of the company and where flexibility and functionality are key. Tell us about these new organizational models where communication, involvement and collaboration play a decisive role.

Diversification translates into a rich and varied range of work settings that allows people to choose how, where and when to perform a specific activity, integrated into a spatial model based on the rules of function and proximity, which involves a balanced alternation of operational and support areas that encourage and stimulate the exchange of ideas and collaboration within the team and between different teams.

Never forgetting that stimulating interaction is an advantage just as important as ensuring privacy, comfort and spaces for concentration.

With the new technologies available that allow us to work virtually anywhere, what role does the office have today?

The physical environment represents one of the three engines of change which are organization, technology and space. Smart Working is a new organizational and spatial model based on the potential of the new digital architectures.

New production and organizational processes and new styles of leadership, accelerated by the potential of constantly evolving technologies, are matched by physical spaces that are no longer closed cells or open plan but diversified to respond to different tasks and above all objectives (hence the name Activity-Based Working).

What does it mean to design custom workplaces to the needs of the Client, relying on a flexible and structured production partner for the customization of products?

The availability of suppliers to customize standard products, adapting them to the specific needs of a Client, is a very important aspect today. In the tendering phase it is one of the criteria we pay most attention to and it carries a high weighting in the assessment of the performance of the supplier. The changing and particular needs of each Client and the rapid evolution of technology make this a fundamental requirement. I would say that today it would not be possible to design a working environment without the confidence of an effective collaboration in the customization. I have come up against a lack of flexibility from some companies in the office sector. Working with a company like Sinetica, however, means collaborating with a partner which can really give this confidence. I will make a practical example to clarify. In the Samsung project we used socket groups to be installed below the surface with top access, of considerable length and height, that could not have been installed into a standard-sized channel below the surface or be accessible from a standard-sized top access. There are ever more different types of work settings for small enclosed spaces where you can have a meeting à deux, telephone, concentrate or connect to a video conference. The tables in these rooms must be wired properly and standard products normally are not, nor can they be easily modified, without finding a flexible and above all structured partner for the production of surfaces, accessories and ad hoc structures. The Italian production chain, with its flexibility, offers this extraordinary resource.
